The Calm…
7:28 AM CDT4/30/24
Casa de Pena
It had been a long last few days for Isabella, full of multiple flights in order to fulfill her contract obligations. In the course of 4 days she had been in 5 cities in two countries over 4 time zones. All in the pursuit of her wrestling career. Two hardcore matches in two days had left her both jet lagged and battered. Now it was Tuesday morning and the new EHWF Hardcore Champion had gotten her first full night's sleep in months. It had been the sleep of the dead, dreamless and strangely solid. Yet, sleeping for ten hours uninterrupted had the unintended side effect of giving her the feeling of having overslept.
At the moment she was sitting in the breakfast nook sipping a mug of tea while eating a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. She was wearing a pair of black shorts and a matching tank top. Her exposed skin was covered in a patchwork of various colored bruises, cuts and scrapes. It was clear she had been in some fights. In fact, anyone who had seen the latest edition of EHWF or seen the last GEW show knew just how true that was.
While she eats she scrolls through her cell phone to see what her upcoming week looked like event wise. She could see that for the next couple of days at least she was event free but given she was now a champion again there looked to be a few publicity bookings in the days before the next Mayhem.
As she sits there her phone begins to ring. Isabella answers the call as she sets her tea mug down. Once answered she puts her phone on speaker. She greets the caller with a smile on her face and a cheerful tone in voice.
Isabella Thorn: This is Izzy.
Nigel Grant: I know Granddaughter. How you feeling after your last few days?
Isabella: Sore but rested. I slept for ten hours last night and am not sure how to feel about that.

Nigel: Well sounds like jet lag and the long weekend caught up with you.
There is a moment of silence while Isabella takes a sip of tea while she lets her grandfather continue the conversation.
Nigel: Well that is good to hear. Though you know that is something you should talk about with your therapist.
Isabella: I know and I will see if I can get a session during the next week.
Nigel: Probably for the best. You know that the twins are having weekly sessions now. We will have to see how much that helps with things.
Isabella nods slightly as she eats some bacon while listening to her grandfather speak.
Isabella: I am sure it will help though the biggest thing will be to see if the bullying continues for the rest of the school year. I am sure once the summer hits things will be better for dealing with things.
Nigel: Good points. We will need to look into something fun for the summer.
Isabella: I will see about setting up something with IYW. I will have to set up a call with Uncle James and see home much help he can get with getting things set up. Shouldn't be too hard to set up something big for the summer.
Nigel: Sounds like a good plan. My big suggestion would be to do something to commemorate your father's legacy. I am sure your conversation with James can get something sorted.
Nigel: Ah the wisdom of a veteran timezone hopper. I will let you get back to your day Izzy. I love you and hope you know that I am here for you anytime you need to talk.
Isabella: I Love you too Grandpa and I will have to keep that in mind.
With that the pair wrap up the call before it ends. Once the phone call ends Isabella turns her attention to finishing her breakfast. Already she had some ideas for the summer IYW events. The image fades out as she gets up to walk towards her office to write down her ideas.
Summer Planning
4/30/24

Casa de Pena
It had been a busy morning for Isabella as she had been looking through the current IYW Southwest Region roster to see who were the current champions. From there she had sketched out some notes for potential matches for a Regional Event. Though due to the nature of the IYW the roster was a bit fluid for any big events. Though that just meant the city left events would need to be started in each region as soon as possible. Which given it was coming up on the summer break for most kids made the timing of things make sense.
First thing that needed to be done was to set up the summer event's name. Second would be to set up the details for the big national level event. Having the dates and location of that would help set up the regional qualifying events. With that being said it was time for Isabella to make a call to the new IYW President James Jefferson. A call she would have on speaker phone to make things easier for everyone.
James Jefferson: Good Afternoon, thank you for calling Pure Wrestling Empire Academy. This is James speaking, how can I assist you?
Isabella gives a giggle of amusement before she makes her reply.
Isabella: Good Afternoon to you too Uncle James. I am calling about setting up the summer IYW event. Grandpa suggested I give you a call to get things rolling on that. After all, something big will need some coordination.
James: Ahhh, I see. It is that time again isn't it? This year so far has flown by. So what did you have in mind?
Isabella: Well my thought was we figure out the dates and city for the Summer trophy winners to be crowned. Knowing that will make penciling in the Regional events much easier. The other General Managers will need to figure that part out for their regions but figure we can get the big details sorted before bringing them in.
The sound of some papers rustling can be heard for a few seconds before James speaks again.
James: Alright, I am guessing you want this to be before the kids go back to school. Which means the safest thing would be to have it in the first half of August. Given some of the other things we have at the big events besides the matches, making it a three day conference makes the most logistical sense. I am looking at the weekend of August 9-11. I know with your schedule you might need to have your assistant GM do the Southwest Region's official stuff for part of that event.
Isabella: That should be doable. Will need to talk with the booking committee in GEW to see if there is an event planned for that weekend. Not even going to bother asking about EHWF's booking schedule given the ways things stand between my family and Gomez's. I am good with that weekend for the national event. As for a location I am thinking one of the Mid regions should host it for the sake of travel ease. Leaning towards MidSouth hosting due to having some bigger venues to work with.
Both Isabella and James make some notes before James replies.
James: I can see that and it actually makes sense given everything going on. Given that we are talking about an IYW Champions only event that will make the booking somewhat interesting. Though given we have 10 Best of Trophies to award with 6 contenders in each booking will need to be creative a bit. Which we can sort out closer to the date not that I am concerned about right now given our booking experience. As for the host city I would recommend St. Louis. It is both centralized and has a lot of historical influence. Would be a good place to host this in my opinion.
Isabella: Sounds good to me Uncle James. I will leave the details up to you in arranging the venue for the matches. Also we will need hotels for the 84 champions plus 6 just in case potential replacement. Good thing is the NextGen and some of the Young Lions have ring crew experience. Will still need to have some dedicated ring crew and production staff for this but I am sure I can leave that in your hands while I work on setting up things for the Southwest Regional Championships. Oh, before I forget Grandpa suggested we do something special with this to honor Dad.
James just chuckles hearing the logistical details being mentioned. Of course the details mentioned were only the tip of the iceberg for this level of undertaking. Just hearing Isabella's excitement about this was a great change of pace from the last time they had talked a few weeks earlier.
James: I can handle the logistics, Izzy. Just set up the Southwest stuff and we can get the rest of the GMs on their regions. As for how to honor your father, it might be time to redesign the belts. In the process we can start new official histories since a lot of the actual records have gaps in them. Maybe work it as a complete rebrand by changing what the initials mean. Keep the trophy plaques as they are as the bridge between the two eras.
Isabella: Hmmm that is a great idea and will add a level of importance to this year's events. What do you think of shifting the name over to Immortal Youth Wrestling. It would honor one of father's monikers.
James: I like that idea a lot though to make this rebrand official we will need to have the Board of Directors vote on this. Will just add it to the email I will be sending out about this so we can arrange at least a conference call to make the official vote. On that note we both have work to do Izzy, so I will let you get to it.
With that both say their goodbyes and the call ends. After the call Isabella gets to work sorting out the initial details for the qualifier round of things for the IYW Southwest Region. The easiest way for this information to get to all the IYW facilities in the region was to send out messages to the district organizers who would then email those in the cities under them. The image fades away with her hard at work.
