TEAM BIOGRAPHY
Relationship: Best friends since childhood, even through a period where they lived in different towns and didn't get to see each other often. They support each other through their issues, though they can also be kind of codependent and reinforce each other's negative traits. Serenity helps Ligaya stay focused and motivated enough for wrestling (and daily life). In return, Ligaya tries to help Serenity be less tightly wound.
Team Career History: They debuted together in November 2014 and have basically always been a tag team, minus the odd short solo run here and there. They've competed for a number of promotions including Hard Knox Wrestling, Lion's Den FC, Twin City Wrestling, Snow Maple Grappling, and Filthy Bazaar. Their only accolade to date is a brief reign as SMG Tag Team Champions, as thanks to a combination of Serenity's poor mental health, Ligaya's struggles with focus and motivation and a shared antipathy towards too much travel, they've often struggled to find a foothold in any companies for long.
Associates:
* Having trained at Battlegrounds Academy, they're mostly on good terms with that school's staff and other graduates.
* They're respectful of one another's other relationships, e.g. Serenity's with Phreak and Ligaya's with Evangelista.
Team Title History:
* 1 x SMG Tag Team Champions
MATCH-WRITING INFO
Entrance Theme: Zombie Girl - "Living Dead Superstars"
Entrance Description: A cheer goes up for the beginning of Zombie Girl's "Living Dead Superstars", and the team of 420 B.C., Ligaya Fontaine and Serenity, emerge. Serenity walks to the ring at the pace of a bride walking down the aisle, clutching a bouquet of dead flowers, while Ligaya jogs back and forth around her, high fiving and hugging fans. Ligya slides into the ring and jumps up onto the far ropes, leaning over them and pumping up the crowd, while Serenity rolls under the bottom rope. As Ligaya plays to different sections of the auditorium Serenity just lays her flowers in their corner, pushes back her veil, and sits down on the mat in the corner. After a moment Ligaya joins her friend, straddling the top rope above her.
Fighting Style & Mindset: Fast paced, quick tags, creative double-teams, and although they're not specifically hardcore wrestlers they're fine with things getting rowdy. They don't have specific roles within the team beyond Serenity being the direction and Ligaya being the raw skill. They know each other inside out and are great at not only coming up with but co-ordinating some stunning double-teams on the fly that nobody else would have thought of, particularly when they're on the back foot. However, between Ligaya's spaciness and Serenity's instability, their mental game is not strong.
Ligaya's a natural, but she lacks the wherewithal to make good use of it, and doesn't always follow Serenity's directions (whether by not hearing, mishearing, forgetting, or just doing something she thinks is better). Serenity's not a natural, and she's well aware of it. She knows Ligaya's the star and that her own job is to keep Ligaya safe and pointing in the right direction. If Serenity gets isolated by both opponents at once she's probably fucked.
Their signature pose is Serenity sitting on the mat in the corner, with Ligaya sitting on the top turnbuckle above her. Ligaya plays to the crowd a lot in general. Serenity doesn't. They're very tactile with each other, often hugging and high fiving and such.
Primary Team Finisher:
01. "Shallow Grave" - Lethal Injection superkick from Serenity, pushing the opponent into the path of a diving double foot stomp to their upper chest or neck from Ligaya that drives them right down to the mat.
Alternative Team Finisher:
01. "Roach Clip" - German suplex from Ligaya into jumping neckbreaker from Serenity.
Limit Break Team Finisher:
01. "Flashfire" - Rope-hung dragon sleeper from Ligaya, followed by phoenix splash to opponent's elevated midsection from Serenity; at the point of impact, Ligaya also drops them into a double knee backbreaker. A tribute to The UK Dragons' "Warped Frontier".
Signature Team Moves / Spots:
01. Abdominal stretch from one of the team, with the other hitting a Battlegrounds Uppercut on the trapped opponent.
02. Leaping seated senton to opponent slumped in corner from Ligaya, followed by running facewash dropkick from Serenity.
03. Simultaneous standing moonsault (Ligaya) and standing shooting star press (Serenity).
04. Single leg Boston crab from Ligaya with Serenity grabbing the opponent's free leg and wishboning them.
05. Tandem Lethal Injection superkick from Serenity and back thrust kick from Ligaya.
Common Double Team Moves:
01. Abdominal stretch from one of the team, running knee to the ribs or solar plexus from the other (sometimes going straight into the Battlegrounds Uppercut variant as above).
02. Spinning toehold from Ligaya, with Serenity coming in for something like a leg drop, fist drop or shooting star splash.
03. Snap suplex from Ligaya, with Serenity coming in after the impact for something like a leg drop, fist drop or shooting star splash.
04. Alternating running strikes to an opponent in the corner.
05. Lots of strikes used to bank an opponent into the path of another strike or dive from the other member.
