GEW PRESENTS
STATE OF MIND OR YOU'LL BE DEAD
31st May 2024 | Buffalo RiverWorks, Buffalo, New York, USA
1. Isabella Thorn, Troy Gafgen & Velvet Grey vs Ligaya Fontaine, Phreak & SerenityIsabella insists on starting out, and she's explosive off the starting block, but Phreak is able to match her aggression and keep things stalemated. He almost pins her with a crucifix out of a mat exchange, and she tags to Troy. The Phoenix Champion's freshness helps him take control over the Phreakish One, so Phreak tries to tag out to Serenity - but Serenity gestures for him to let Ligaya in instead, knowing that her technical skill will line up much better against the Hall of Famer. And so it does, not long enough to put Troy on his back, but enough to wear him down so that Serenity can do it when she's back in. But now she has to contend with Velvet, who manages to trap Little Miss Phreakish in their corner. She, Izzy and Troy use triple teams to pretty much wreck Serenity - Isabella in particular, once again, showing that lack of self-control she's had ever since the death of her father. When Serenity finally manages to make the hot tag, there's an awkward moment as Phreak and Ligaya both slap it at the same time! Their brief confusion allows Velvet and Isabella to drag the White Widow back to their corner and tag Troy in, who levels Serenity with a big boot. Phreak and Fontaine glance at one another momentarily then rush over, leading to your classic tag breakdown! That leads to Isabella dragging Phreak over the ropes to ringside where they enter a hardcore brawl, and to Velvet and Ligaya trading shots on the apron. That leaves Troy and Serenity, and though Serenity shows heart as she unleashes a striking combo, she hasn't got much left in the tank and Troy easily subdues her. She manages to slip from a swinging full nelson, but Gafgen converts it straight into a kneeling armbar which makes Serenity tap out pretty much immediately.
Winners via submission: Isabella Thorn, Troy Gafgen & Velvet GreyThe camera catches a fist-bump between Ryan McGrath and Heart Boy Hugo backstage as they're parting ways. Ryan has a grin on his face, clearly happy with whatever exchange has just taken place, as he yells a "good luck" to his newfound friend. His mood quickly changes though, and he lets out a heavy sigh as he hears someone calling out his name.
He recognises the voice as Mark Chapman's and decides to not look up. Unfortunately, keeping his eyes on the ground doesn't make him invisible and Mark is in front of him before he knows it. "You think I don't know that you were behind what happened to Revvy?" Ryan looks up at him, but ignores him and tries to walk around him but Mark sidesteps and cuts him off. "This isn't a fucking game, Ryan. You need to really think about what you're doing before you dig yourself a hole so deep there's no way out."
Ryan rolls his eyes. "Poetic. You should write a song about it," he says and, again, tries to walk around Mark and carry on his way.
Mark grabs him by the collar of his shirt, shoving him hard against the wall and lifting him completely off his feet. The significant height advantage he has makes this relatively easy. "Your dad may be afraid to hurt you, but I'm not."
"L-Let go!" Ryan demands, wide-eyed. He tries to sound authoritative, but it's clear he's shaken and scared.
Mark lets go with one hand, and moves it to wrap around Ryan's throat, keeping him pinned still with the other hand. "What's the matter, RyRy?" he asks, applying just enough pressure to the youngster's throat to let him know he could really hurt him if he wanted to. "Not such a tough guy now, huh?"
Two large arms club Mark across the back with an axe handle as a mountain of a man dressed in black crashes into the shot with his back to the camera. Mark stumbles, and before he knows what's going on, he's being clubbed repeatedly on the ground. Ryan also drops to the ground after Mark releases him, shaken and rubbing his throat.
Mark's attacker is joined by a second assailant, also dressed in black and hiding his face, who starts laying in hard kicks to his chest and abdomen. The larger of the two pulls him up by the back of the shirt and throws him head first into the wall with a crash, leaving him standing, still with his back to the camera and holding onto the tattered garment.
Ever resilient, Mark rises to one knee but he has no chance to defend himself as a third assailant now enters the frame and starts hammering his bare chest with machine gun chops. 5, 10, 15, 20, there is no sign of him slowing, and maybe he wouldn't have even stopped if it wasn't for the smallest of the trio superkicking the kneeling Chapman's head off and leaving him out cold on the floor.
The trio congratulate each other with slaps on the back and cheers before they pull Ryan back up to his feet. Ryan's breathing heavily, but he clears his throat and attempts to smooth down his shirt as Mark lays motionless on the ground. "Thanks, guys," he says, lifting his head to look at the men with as much confidence as he can muster, "but I had it under control."
The camera fades out with a shot of Mark laying prone on the ground.
2. Heart Boy Hugo vs Takeo ShimaHugo seems to have no idea what he just missed. He's all hype, especially in light of getting pulled from his last match due to a minor injury; he's eager to make up for that. But Takeo is focused and aggressive. Hugo does his best and has flashes of control, but overall Takeo looks well on his way to finally picking up the first win of his career... until he realises that Alex Chambers is standing on the stage watching him. He's not even doing anything, really, but he looks ready to interfere and this still gets in Takeo's head, prompting his offence to falter. Every time Shima glances back in Chambers' direction, he's
slightly closer to the ring. Hugo doesn't clock what's wrong with Takeo but he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, and he makes a big comeback capped off with the H-Bomb for the win!
Winner via pinfall: Heart Boy HugoAlex rolls his eyes and shakes his head and yells across at Takeo that he's fucking useless. Only now does Hugo notice him. He yells back and waves at Alex to go away, and helps Takeo to his feet - although he doesn't show any remorse for picking up what was arguably an asterisked win. But Alex isn't going anywhere. His match is next. Takeo's ready to fight him, but Hugo pulls him to the back in a wide berth, which leaves Alex smirking and chuckling.
3. Alex Chambers & Myles Taylor vs Cole McGrath & Kai O'HaraBefore the match Alex and Myles share a laugh between them, pointing out (loudly) that Kai still hasn't managed to pick up a win in GEW. Even Cole has done that - and he's not even really an active wrestler! Cole tries to tell Kai to ignore them and just focus on what they've got to do, but he's heated and it's easy to see. In light of this, Cole volunteers - or rather, demands - to start the match and Kai reluctantly makes his way onto the apron. It's Alex that starts out for the other team and the match starts off pretty heavy handed; Alex wants to brawl and Cole is more than happy to oblige. After a minute or so of beating the crap out of each other, Cole tries to take a technical stance and bring Alex down to the mat, but the deathmatcher isn't having any of it and forward rolls out of it to tag in Myles, who goes hold-for-hold with Cole before turning him inside out with a beast of a lariat. He establishes control from there and isn't long until Cole finds himself in hot water and has to make the tag to Kai and, unfortunately for him, it's Kai who has to see the match through to its conclusion as his opponents pick him apart with quick tags and cut off every opportunity he has to tag out. Not that he tries to reach Cole all that often, as he valiantly tries to prove himself against the team who are taking more than a few liberties with double team moves and underhanded - but not strictly illegal - tactics, but on the few occasions he does, someone is there to intercept the tag or knock Cole from his position in the corner. Once Kai is sufficiently weakened, it's academic. Alex plants him with a cradle piledriver and Myles runs around the outside of the ring to pull Cole down from the apron as his partner makes the cover.
Winners via pinfall: Alex Chambers & Myles TaylorCole slides back into the ring as the victors celebrate, and he helps Kai to his feet. He's visibly frustrated and telling Kai that he should have tagged when he had the chance. Kai shrugs him off and once Cole is sure he's good, he leaves the ring and heads to the back, probably expecting his partner to follow. Kai stays in the ring, though, a mixture of anger and disappointment etched on his face. Myles sees this and smirks, then taunts him for having lost again. There's only so much Kai can take and after a few seconds of seething, he throws himself at Myles with an attempted forearm, but Taylor has it scouted, ducks, and grabs him in a full nelson. Kai struggles, but he's stuck and Myles calls for Alex who was just about to head to the back. Chambers grins, slides back into the ring and buries a couple of punches into the helpless man's stomach. Taylor holds firm as Kai instinctively tries to hunch over and Alex slides back out of the ring to retrieve a chair. Understanding the peril that he's in, Kai brings his leg up behind him and low-blows Myles, who lets go and crumples to the mat. Before Kai can make a run for it though, Alex is already in the ring and smashing him over the head with a chair. He drops, and Chambers continues his assault with the chair until it's bent out of shape. Myles is back up now and barking orders at Alex, who understands the assignment and drags Kai towards a corner, then places the mangled chair on the mat. He wedges Kai's arm in the chair as Taylor climbs to the top rope, yelling about how Kai has a cute kid and it would be a shame if he couldn't hold her anymore. The crowd is chanting for Mark Chapman but after what happened to him earlier, he isn't coming to save his friend. A roar soon erupts, though, as Takeo Shima - still in his gear from his match - sprints down the ramp with a chair of his own. Alex looks up and immediately slides out of the ring and charges at his once pet project, only to be sent straight down with a swing of the chair. It's too late for Kai, though, as Myles jumps off the top rope with a stomp, sandwiching his arm in the chair. Shima looks on, horrified, as he drops the chair and brings his hands to his head as Kai rolls around, screaming and clutching his arm. Alex grabs the chair as Takeo is distracted and cracks him over the back with it, then hits him again once he's fallen to the ground. He leans over him and berates him - If he'd have listened to him months ago, he wouldn't be so useless - he can't even save someone without fucking it up. Back in the ring, Taylor stomps on Kai's arm again for good measure before leaving, stepping over the prone Takeo, and heading back up the ramp with Alex.
Lyra Keston's already on the stage, and she's impatient about her match being delayed by Myles and Alex's actions. As she passes them she gets up in their faces about it, telling them to fuck off and get back in their hole. Alex gets right back in Lyra's face and they bicker; it turns physical when she pushes his chest. Infuriated, he slaps her face, and she in turn punches him in the jaw! A couple of security guards run out and get between them, but Alex and Lyra are still trading insults as she heads down to the ring and he is dragged to the back by Myles.
4. Ivan Grant vs Lyra KestonLyra, still fired up by her confrontation with Alex, rushes Ivan from the bell. He's kind of overwhelmed by this, giving up the first couple of minutes. Eventually he gets his head back into it and once he does, he quickly takes over, using his massive weight advantage to ragdoll her around the ring with suplexes. When he locks her into an elevated full nelson, her legs kick at the air fruitlessly for a few moments before she remembers her training and starts throwing her heels back into Ivan's knees. He struggles to adapt in turn, and ends up letting her go lest he get dropped. Which... he does anyway not long after that, when she catches him with a chop block after dazing him with a springboard uppercut. She generally keeps the tempo after that, landing more hits than Ivan, and though she has roughly zero chance of getting him up in the Polar Vortex or Eye of the Storm, she's not fazed. After a series of dives, she blasts him with a Stay Down and then manages to pull his tree trunk legs into a figure four, forcing a tap.
Winner via submission: Lyra KestonAs Lyra stands back up, she blows Ivan a kiss and tells him to say hi to his sister for her. But it's a different family member who arrives on the scene - his aunt, Velvet Grey! Lyra tells her to get out and stop stealing her moment, and Velvet argues with her for a bit. However, she's not out here for Lyra but for Ivan, asking him what that display was, reminding him that she - and his father, and many others - trained him better than that. He doesn't have an answer for her, though.
Revvy King is next out, after Ivan and Velvet have gone backstage, and Lyra chooses to stay out for her friend's match... though the good luck she wishes her seems, well, kinda wishy-washy. She's much more animated by the arrival of Cassie Crowe, scowling and throwing jibes her way. It's Cassie's turn to complain about her match being delayed, mockingly mirroring Lyra's words to Alex earlier, and when Lyra protests that that was Velvet's fault, Cassie just laughs at her.
5. Cassie Crowe vs Revvy KingThis is a high speed match and more competitive than one might expect on paper, as Revvy's determined to make the most of a rare chance to take on a current champion in singles competition. She's being...
aided? by Lyra, who keeps trying to throw Cassie off her game. But as the minutes tick on and Lyra keeps up her distractions, they are - if anything - actually distracting Revvy more than Cassie, who's mostly making a point of blanking Lyra. It's not lost on either King or the commentators that Lyra's paying a lot more attention to the champion she wants a shot at than to her own tag team partner. But Cassie's willpower breaks when Lyra casually walks over to the timekeeper's table and picks up her Chaos Championship belt! As she strokes it, and then admires her reflection in the chrome finish, Cassie keeps glancing over angrily... and when Lyra fastens it around her own waist, Crowe slides out of the ring and barges up in her face, demanding she take it off! Lyra just laughs, so Cassie snatches it, trying to pull it off Lyra by force. They're nose to nose, practically snarling at one another, as the ref begins to issue a count. Cassie tries to take the belt back again but Lyra holds it in place, until the referee tells her SHE'S OUTTA THERE! Only then does she take the title off and she shoves it hard into Cassie's chest, with one last feint lunge in the champion's face, before leaving. Throughout all of this, Revvy has just been watching and growing impatient, but as Cassie slides back into the ring Revvy catches her with a small package for a two point nine count! Lyra turns and calls back one last insult to Cassie from the entrance, but once again this proves more distracting to Revvy, who turns to glance at her partner - as does the official, to once again order Lyra out of the auditorium. Cassie takes full advantage, spinning Revvy around and kicking her in the crotch! The ref misses the low blow, but sees the ensuing Code: Fatalis and pin!
Winner via pinfall: Cassie CroweA short video hyping the upcoming Extreme Extravaganza plays, including the in-ring GEW debut of Jimmy Page, and the question of whom his first opponent will be.
6. The Bethel (ABEL, DEACON & Oliver Creed) vs Blaine Knox, Napoleon Collins III & Zeke Colton SpenceAfter losing a singles and tag match last time, the Wildfire graduates are out for vengeance, and they wrestle a high paced, hit-and-run match, knowing that they can't afford to be either caught by the superheavyweight duo or trapped by the wily grappler who leads them. And they do surprisingly well, especially Zeke and NC3, watching one another's backs and using tags smartly. ABEL and DEACON get frustrated, but Oliver keeps them in check, using his high ring IQ to co-ordinate offence which puts them back in control. They isolate Blaine for punishment, knowing he doesn't have that bond with his partners. At one point when Blaine seems liable to escape Oliver's grasp, The Messiah uses a low blow to shut him down. But if cheating gets put on the table Blaine will pick it up! He escapes a Devil's Advocate bomb via eye jab, and replies with a stalling brainbuster for a good two point eight pin over the former GEW World Champion! It allows him to tag to Napoleon, while Creed crawls over to bring DEACON in. But Collins and Spence couldn't be more ready to go and remarkably, they actually take control, getting both ABEL and DEACON to their knees after a series of well-planned double team striking combos.
...and that moment of vulnerability is when ABEL and DEACON are attacked from behind! A barbed wire hockey stick across ABEL's spine! A barbed wire lacrosse stick between DEACON's shoulderblades! IT'S THE JOKERS WILD! They've been on the injury list ever since The Bethel brutally beat them down at Prelude To A Collision, almost three months ago. But it seems like they're back, and they're pissed off!
Winners via disqualification: The BethelCreed tries to rescue his men, but gets blasted across the head with the hockey stick too, and Zeke and Napoleon send him from the ring with a double clothesline. The Bethel are forced to retreat with Spades and BlakJak in hot pursuit, with the commentators bringing up how this is really the first time Oliver and his Flock have shown any serious vulnerability. The Wildfire team aren't happy, but Blaine in particular is fuming, feeling that a huge win was just robbed away. He rants about how between Shane Tallin and Oliver Creed and now Jokers Wild he's absolutely frigging sick to the back teeth of GEW's veterans keeping the younger talent - keeping
him - in their shadows! He's still mad and kicking at stuff as he heads backstage.
7. Ryan McGrath vs Shane TallinRyan's still looking pretty cocky (even by his standards) after his 'handling' of the situation with Mark earlier, and he doesn't look impressed by Shane. But he ought to know better than to underestimate a multi-time world champion, a lesson that he gets reminded of by Shane whipping him from pillar to post early on! Ryan powders as soon as he can - which is certainly not as soon as he'd like - and Shane actually just hangs back and allows him to re-enter, believe it or not. Ryan takes his sweet time, pacing around, trash talking, before finally sliding back in just in time. His head's on straighter now and he gets a better share of the offence, even picking up a two count off a rolling thunder and a springboard moonsault. But he again gets overconfident, leading to Shane catching him with the single-knee backbreaker for the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Shane TallinBefore Ryan can leave,
Higher by Dark Signal hits the speakers and Roscoe Lake walks out! He heads straight for the ring, looking upset, and gets up in Ryan's face, asking him what the hell his problem is... how could he stand by and watch his own uncle and mentor get beaten up!? Ryan tells him to back off and shoves him hard. Roscoe shoves him back, and they come face to face. Shane has been watching all of this; with a sigh, he steps forward and tries to get between the youngsters, but they both push him away. He shrugs an "I tried" shrug and backs towards the ropes... suddenly the lights flicker spookily, the video screen crackles with snow, and things go dark for a few seconds... when the lights come back, Shane is nowhere to be seen. But Ryan and Roscoe are still there, and Ryan punches Roscoe in the mouth! They start brawling, rolling around the ring furiously. Stevie and Mick ask where all the security guards are, as nobody's coming out to break this up...
...a question answered when the screen flares up again, showing that security are holding apart The Bethel and The Jokers Wild, who've apparently been fighting backstage throughout Tallin vs McGrath! Instead it's up to members of GEW's booking committee - Cerberus, Cole McGrath, Matty Graves and Gregor Grant - to rush out and hold Ryan and Roscoe apart. While the bosses are busy with Ryan and Roscoe, the screen fades to a skinny young man in swim shorts holding a strongman pose. Joey Classic walks into the frame, drops a bucket of sand on the floor, and kicks it into the kid's... uh, legs. Then he turns and points at the screen.
"Is this you? Always gettin' sand kicked in your face by buff, handsome beach bullies?"
We're not in a beach, we're in what seems to be a parking lot, but same same. A woman in a bikini walks into view and asks in a faltering tone, "When will you man up and be a man, Timmy?"
Joey grabs the boy and pulls him into a headlock to ask, "How about constantly gettin' side headlocked? What about knife edged chopped?" - and he duly spins Timmy out and smashes him in the chest with a brutal chop that knocks him flat and leaves him spasming.
"Isn't it time you turned the tables and did the bullyin' yer own self? If you want to learn how to fight back, there's only one guaranteed path to success and that's through me. Lotta flim flam men and snake oil sellers out there claim they can toughen you up. They can't. Only I can, with my exclusive elite trainin' course."
We cut to a split screen shot. Timmy's on one side, and on the other is a much taller and more muscular man who is dressed the same, but... pretty clearly not the same person. Timmy holds up a white cardboard sign with BEFORE printed on it, and, er, 'Timmy' holds up a sign with AFTER printed on it. Joey walks into the shot and paces around as he speaks - including passing in front of the split screen divider, which is turns out is just a pole.
"You can be the next rasslin' superstar. Don't believe me? Look at this body I gave this geek."
The woman steps back into shot and swoons over the bodybuilder, saying "Oh, Timmy! You
are a real man after all!" And then she awkwardly shuffles out of frame again.
Joey points at the camera. "Enrol today in Classic Academy and in just seven
ty days I can make YOU a new man. And a rassler. Which is better. Bein' a rassler kicks ass."
Timmy and 'Timmy' both make thumbs ups behind Joey as he says this, before the promo cuts off.
8. MC Inc (Casey Black & Lance Murphy) & The Natural Ones (Anson Orlandelli & Russ Lehman) vs Scott Simmonds, Shooter Load (Phil Hunter & Shaun Irvine) & ZanatosMC Inc and The Natural Ones are working well together tonight; they seem to have developed a mutual respect out of their clashes over the last year. Also their shared friendship with Tony Harrison, whom Shooter Load put on the shelf, probably doesn't hurt. Anson, however, seems to want to get into a oneupmanship contest with them, no doubt with the Global Tag Team Championship in mind; he and Russ were certainly eyeing the title belts covetously during Lance and Casey's entrance. The champs don't care about anything like that right now though. They want Shooter Load's blood. Shooter Load want theirs, too, and the war between these two teams in particular is unsurprisingly the dominant thread of the match. They're both trying to be as brutal as they can without getting disqualified. All rules are pretty much suggestions only here, and the poor ref is run rugged trying to catch everything. Scott is always up for another round of Murder Lance Murphy, after all, and The Natural Ones view rules as an optional extra at the best of times. But Zanatos is the odd man out in this whole equation, as he seems reluctant to be teaming with Shooter Load. In fact he pretty obviously considers them, Shaun in particular, to be complete oafs. He pulls his weight, but he refuses to help them cheat. MC Inc and Shooter Load have extended ringside brawls throughout the match, leaving Scott, Zanatos and The Natural Ones to wrestle the actual match for long spells. It's during one of those spells that Scott manages to catch Anson with the Lights Out Driver to end it.
Winners via pinfall: Scott Simmonds, Shooter Load & ZanatosZanatos is already hopping down from the apron as the bell rings, to head straight to the back. You will presumably be thoroughly unshocked to learn that the bell does
not stop MC Inc and Shooter Load fighting. Fortunately the security team seem to have handled the whole Jokers/Bethel situation by now, so they're able to pour in and break it up.
Troy Gafgen joins the commentary desk for the next match, to determine the #1 contender to his Phoenix Championship.
9. Evangelista vs Matt KailThe wrestlers shake hands before they clinch. Much like in Matt's match against Nikki last time, they know one another so well as both friends and athletes that they can read each other's movements and anticipate each other's moves. That means it's a careful match, but it doesn't mean it's a slow one as they grapple, counter-grapple, rebound off the ropes, and throw fast striking sequences in their quest to gain an advantage. Troy praises both wrestlers for their development since the old GEW - though he hasn't forgotten their role in its fall, and he's quick to remind everyone that he's beaten both of them in singles competition in the new GEW. But he acknowledges that they both gave him some of his toughest challenges of the last year. Crell brings up that although Troy's been keen to prove his technical skills, Evangelista outwrestled him at Collision Course and he had to resort to power moves to beat her. Troy neither accepts nor denies this, instead just confirming that there's some unfinished business there. Matt and Leanne are down to one rope break each after an intensely even match, and despite their exhaustion are tussling in the dead centre of the ring. Evangelista goes for the Headbreaker but Kail jumps from her grasp and brings her down with a modified Boom Goes The Dynamite. He hangs back and scouts a Thank You, Pain, but she dodges when he charges in and swings him into a schoolgirl! He powers out just in time, and she brings him straight back in for a wrist-clutch exploder... no! Knee to the gut to counter, headbutt to daze her, and he quickly rips her into the Kaileidoscope to get the three count!
Winner via pinfall: Matt KailMatt's grinning gleefully at winning the #1 contendership, but he still helps his friend back to her feet. She's clearly disappointed and angry with herself, but hugs and congratulates him nonetheless. But they both turn around when they realise Troy is in the ring now! Evangelista hangs back nervously as Troy takes her place in front of Matt... but she needn't worry as the champion simply extends a hand. Matt grabs it and they shake, slowly breaking into smirks aimed at one another. Still shaking Matt's hand, Troy slowly raises his belt in the air and grins cockily. Matt just points at it and pats his belly with his free hand. Troy tells him to bring his A game as they break apart, and Matt replies that he doesn't need to worry about that.
Kameron Chase is finishing off his pre-match stretches behind the curtain, ready to go out for his main event, when Ryan McGrath walks past him and slaps him on the shoulder. "Good luck, Dad."
Kameron turns around instantly. "Hey, wait," he says before Ryan can get too far. "What the hell was that earlier?"
"What?" Ryan questions, almost innocently.
"You know what," Kam answers, eyebrows raised. "Mark..."
"He came at me, if you didn't notice," Ryan reasons. "Would you rather it was me with the medics right now?"
Kameron sighs. "No of course not," he says, "But who the hell were those guys?"
Ryan shrugs. "Friends. Don't worry about it."
"Don't worry about it? Ryan, I defended you when he accused you of attacking Revvy."
"Good, because
I didn't." Ryan shrugs again. "Focus on your match," he says, turning and looking at Kameron as he walks backwards away from him, "And dealing with another problem Mark has caused."
There's no time for Kameron to respond and Ryan has already turned back around and headed down the corridor anyway as The Natural Disaster's music starts to play.
10. Kameron Chase vs Serena RaineSerena runs her mouth before the match even starts, reminding Kameron about her promise to run through every one of the GEW originals. He just rolls his eyes as the bell rings. She carries on talking, pointing out all the times she's demolished one of his students, including Ryan. It's the mention of his son that seems to get a rise out of him as he visibly tenses and then beckons her to lock up. Almost immediately, she kicks him in the belly and takes him over with a snapmare into a side headlock, then starts grinding her kneecap into the base of his skull. The official comes in to warn her; while she's protesting, she gives Kam enough opening to push himself up and then drop back down in a stunner! That lets him into the match - but he's clearly out of sorts tonight, nowhere near as sharp or explosive as usual. Everything with Ryan, the assault on Mark, even the chaos among his trainees; he's got a lot on his plate and it's very obviously taking a toll. Serena by contract is in full on murder mode, eager to not only post a victory over the face of the company, but destroy her would-be nemesis Mark's cousin. She's exceptionally aggressive, completely relentless, pushing five counts as much as she possibly can and taking almost maniacal glee in the harm she's causing. Of course Kameron Chase is still a major threat even when he's not at full capacity, and he makes Raine work for it, but she's ready to do that. They both get multiple nearfalls but Serena's getting more. Finally, she hits the Blood Rain... but only gets a two count! That only makes her even more violent, somehow. She slams Kam down with a curb stomp, then lifts him back up and does it again. The referee verbally warns her that that's enough and tells her to end the match. She ignores him, rolling Kameron over and dropping to a knee. With his head in one hand, she hammers down with relentless punches to his head, opening a cut above his eye but still not stopping. The five count comes and goes and she doesn't stop. Again, the referee gives Raine a warning - but again she ignores him and keeps brutalising Chase with closed fists. The ref's left with no choice but to ring the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Kameron ChaseIf Serena hears the bell and the announcement, she doesn't seem to care. There's a grin on her face as she relishes the booing from the crowd and looks down at her fist, covered in Chase's blood. Her sick smile widens as she brings her hand up to her mouth and licks it! As Serena continues to wail on Kameron,
Renegade by Hollywood Undead blares over the sound system. The crowd goes ballistic and Serena stops and looks up to see Mark Chapman on the stage. He's not in the best shape after what happened to him earlier in the night; he's limping slightly and holding his ribs, but still he walks down the ramp towards the ring. He keeps his eyes locked on Serena as Kameron drags himself into a corner and pulls himself to sit up using the ropes. As Chapman gets closer to the ring, Raine is grinning, and beckoning him forward. She urges him to hurry up and get in the ring and give her a two for one, indicating Chapmanās downed cousin in the corner. It looks as if Mark is about to give her what she wants for a second as he pauses at ringside, but he's not that stupid. Instead of getting into the ring he walks around to the other side and grabs a microphone with Raine not taking her eyes off of him for a second.
"Enough," is the first thing he says as Serena goads him some more. "You'd love for me to get in the ring right now, wouldn't you?" She confirms his assumption with a vigorous nod of her head and he just grins. "Not gonna happen. I'm not an idiot. I just had ten tons of crap beat out of me by God knows who and I'm pretty sure I'm at the very least mildly concussed."
There's some laughs from the crowd and he shrugs as he walks back around the ring. "Anyways... Enough of this prodding and poking and beating up kids and family members... and temper tantrums and bitching and moaning and crying over a loss that happened months ago..."
He ascends the steel steps closest to Kameron and Serena makes a move forward. He's trying to get under her skin, and the look on her face seems to show that it's working. As she edges closer, he holds up a hand. "I'd back up if I were you or you're not gonna get what you want for even MORE months."
She scowls at him as he slowly, carefully and painfully bends and climbs between the ropes. She takes another step forward and again, he holds up a hand. "Don't touch me, just listen." She tenses, her fists balling at her sides as Mark extends a hand to Kameron and helps him up, though it hurts Mark more than it helps his cousin, who seemed to just be resting there and listening at this point.
He turns back to Serena and this time it's he who takes a step forward. "Extreme Extravaganza, you get your match," he says. "Until then leave my family, and my students, the fuck alone."
Raine's face breaks into a wicked grin, and she nods. "About damn time," can be heard, and she backs up and drops out of the ring, the grin never fading.
